About the Kelly Kettle Ultimate Scout Kit

The Kelly Kettle Ultimate Stainless Scout Kit includes the Stainless Steel Scout Kettle, Storage Bag, Cook set, Kelly Kettle Pot Support, 2 Stainless Steel Camping Cups, 2 Stainless Steel Camping Plates and large Hobo Stove.

The Scout stainless steel camp kettle boils approximately 41 oz of water at a time – that’s about seven 6 oz. mugs of water for camp coffee, tea or hot cocoa. The medium Scout Kettle will bring water to a boil within a matter of minutes. The best camping kettle for small groups, family camping, hunting, fishing, kayaking, car camping, picnics. Scout kettles are ideal for emergency preparedness kits, humanitarian aid stations, or anyone working in the forests or the great outdoors.

Introducing a Camping Kettle with Whistle

A green whistle has replaced the orange stopper on the Kettles and will sound a nice loud whistle to let you know when the water has boiled. Older Kelly Kettles may have an Orange Rubber or Cork Stopper. These MUST ALWAYS be removed before using the kettle. The Kettle must never be boiled with these older stoppers in the spout, but the new camping kettle with whistle can be left in while the water is boiling.

Best Camping Kettle in Bad Weather

All Kelly Kettle products are the best kettle for camping as they work extremely well in stormy weather conditions. They are a vital piece of camping equipment for any outdoor adventure. Extremely dependable as they have no moving parts to fail or break.

Burn All Natural Fuel

Never pack fuel again and save money. Kelly Kettles are cost free to run and eco-friendly, as they use all natural fuel such as twigs, dry grass, heather, birch bark, pine cones, dry animal dung, etc. Remember: The Kettle has been designed to boil water extremely fast in all weather conditions using very little fuel. When filled with water, the Kelly Kettle should always be carried upright to avoid any spillage/leakage from the water spout or chimney top.

Kelly Kettle users have described their kettles as the “Greatest Invention of all Time”.

Ultimate Kits are absolutely the best value when purchasing Kelly Kettle products!

Note: The fire bases invert partially up into the bottom of our Kelly Kettles to make the unit as compact as possible for transporting and storage. Normally, the Firebase will not invert fully up into the kettle. This is particularly evident with the Medium size Kelly Kettle. Never force the inverted base up into the Kelly Kettle to try and achieve a “Perfect Fit.” This may cause damage to your Kelly Kettle or result in the base becoming stuck within the kettle.

An excellent product with an ingenious system. I am very fond of my Kettle. Sturdy quality, years and years of service, and except that sometimes it’s harder to find dry twigs than others I haven’t found a single issue I would wanna improve (except maybe a bit sturdier bag). The Scout for me is exactly the right size for 2 people. For single trips, I will get myself a Trekker model in Aluminum as well.

I’ve been using mine for about a month in the backyard before I took it out in the sticks for the first time. I’ve made several gallons of coffee, dehydrated meals, boiled frozen chicken, and just sat there and enjoyed a small fire. Everything works as it should, and everything in the kit is actually useful. I have a gaggle of stoves from the entire price range; this is not 100% practical, (heavy) but by far the most enjoyable. I was REALLY surprised at just how little fuel you need to cook and boil. Also, I love the comfort and ambiance of the small fire. My favorite thing about the Kelly Kettle is ZERO cost of ownership and no waste at all. I came to the realization that gas stoves will cost you money for as long as you own them. Now, I never have to buy fuel again and I’m not putting a mountain of empty canisters in the local landfill. That is at least three different kinds of bad for the environment. I feel better about spending my time in the great outdoors. Here is my one dislike. The carrying bag is beyond flimsy. It didn’t survive its first trip out of the yard. I loaded up my gear drove an hour out, an hour back and, by the time I got home, there were seventeen holes in the bag. If you can’t carry the kit… It’s not very useful, is it? I wish they would have made it out of a good thick canvas. Or at least offer a canvas bag separately. Also, I would suggest getting a pocket bellows. If Kelly Kettle sold them I would have bought one for sure. Bottom line… I would 100% recommend this kit. Just have to find a good bag.

I love it. Works fabulously. Some pine needles and grass and I had boiling water before I could gather a few larger sticks!

Wow, even better made than I expected. I have it in my base camp go-bag (but I do take it out to play with from time to time lol). BTW, this entire kit weighs 5 pounds.

I just wanted to say a big thanks for possibly the best outdoor-related thing I have ever owned. Had my scout kettle for just over a year, and now it is not an ‘occasional’ use item for camping, it has replaced my petrol and gas stoves. (Especially after adding the hobo stove). Not only is it incredibly practical and insanely fast, but it is also good fun to use, and when used in a basecamp style way, collecting suitable fuel for the duration gives you something to do if you get a bit bored. I have probably now convinced at least 5 people to get one.

I have had my Scout for about a year and a half now. But have only been using it for around 12 months of that time as I was recovering from shoulder surgery when it was given to me as a gift. But once I got back in the field I started using it and seen what it could do. I can say that it is a piece of kit that is always considered when going out on a hike and especially overnight. And if I am going to be out for two nights or more, then it is going no question about it. I have the stainless model with all the accessories. And I can say that it is one well thought out kit. I have added a small non-stick frypan, but nothing else. Because everything else you need is there when you get one of the ultimate kits as I did. Keep up the good work.

I couldn’t be happier with my Kelly Kettle and will be bringing it on future expeditions. On my last expeditionm a friend and I paddled a canoe 600 miles down the Srepok and Mekong rivers through Cambodia and Vietnam. Along the way we stopped in several villages to teach CPR and abdominal thrusts for choking emergencies. We needed a stove that could boil lots of water efficiently without burning up several bottles of hard-to-find liquid fuel over the weeks we paddled down the river. Kelly Kettle offered the perfect solution, an efficient burning wood stove that is excellent at boiling quantities of water as well as for cooking on. We even used our Medium Stainless Kettle with a Power Pot to keep an iPad and speaker charged for teaching classes and since the Kelly Kettle burns wood, we essentially had an unlimited supply of electricity. We burned lots of fuel types like bamboo, leaves, bushes, driftwood, bark, and more. We almost always had a good fuel source to burn but for the few cases when we camped on a sandy island with no wood, we used an alcohol burner as a backup which works well to boil water in the kettle or cook on using only the firebase.
