About the Sagan Life® AquaDrum™ 55 Gallon Drum Water Filter

NEW PRODUCT – This now includes a Rechargeable Battery pump. (Barrel not included)

The AquaDrum™ 55 Gallon Drum Water Filtration System is a fast, easy way to get purified drinking water out of your 55-gallon drum; no matter how long that water has been in there. Many garages and basements across America are equipped with long-term water storage containers full of emergency water. However, the catch is “how are you going to get the water out when you need it?”

Easily purify and pump water from your 55-gallon drum, providing safe, clean drinking water for your family – SO, NO NEED TO EVER CHANGE THE WATER IN YOUR DRUM AGAIN.

The hand pump and rechargeable battery pump draw water through the filter and out the drum – providing gallons of pure, clean drinking water instantly from your water barrel. Quick connect pieces easily connect the components. Attach the Power Pump to the Journey Filter using the quick connect and tubing. Drop the filter into the water barrel. It pretty much sets on top of the barrel opening. Push the button on the Power Pump and pure clean water immediately flows.

The Power Pump flows continuously and will pump approximately 40 ounces of water per minute. That’s about 5 cups of water. When the Power Pump slows down a bit – you’ll know it’s time for a recharge using the USB cable it comes with.

No matter the size container of your emergency water supply storage, the AquaDrum™ System is an effective solution to get purified emergency drinking water fast.

Each water barrel filtration system includes one Journey Filter, which purifies 250 gallons of water – that’s four and a half 55-gallon drums. Using the Hand Pump, water flows fast and immediate providing up to one (1) gallon of purified water in less than three (3) minutes. One charge of the Power Pump purifies 20 gallons of water with the filter; one charge purifies 30 gallons of water without the filter. The Power Pump will purify 40 ounces of water per minute.

The Journey filter removes 99.9999% of all bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera, and E. coli; 99.99% of VIRUS; 99.99% of all protozoa, such as giardia and cryptosporidium and, as a result, provides pure, clean, fresh tasting water. Also purifies the most turbid tap water, removing lead, fluoride and other dangerous toxins from your water supply.

The Journey™ Water Filter can be dried out for storage and used again without any adverse effects. Additionally, the filter can be dropped without damaging the filter.

All Sagan Life® water purification products are independently tested by NELEC – EPA Certified Water Laboratories. As a result, they exceed EPA water filter standards.

The patented filtration media technology used in all Sagan water purification products is based on electroadsorption of contaminants, not mechanical filtration. The electro-positively charged media acts like a magnet attracting and retaining contaminants, as small as viruses, out of the water as they come in contact with the media.

The media itself is made of layers of non-woven, nano-alumina coated glass fibers containing powdered activated carbon (PAC) and antimicrobial protection (silver). The positively charged media field is sandwiched between layers of spunbond polyester, which provides strength to the pleated media.

The proprietary filter media offers exceptionally high flow rates and efficiency in removing contaminants. The media has been shown to remove viruses, bacteria, cysts, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), disinfection by-products, endotoxin, natural organic matter and other sub-micron particles and therefore making it IMPOSSIBLE FOR DANGEROUS ORGANISMS TO PASS THROUGH.

Changing your filter will depend on how much water you use and how contaminated it is. Since the filter acts as a magnet, as mentioned above, your filter will get clogged up over time. When it gets to the point of not being able to get water out of the filter, or the flow is not sufficient for your needs, it is time to change your filter. Even if there is only a trickle of water coming out, that water is still safe to drink.

I was so glad to hear about the AquaDrum product. I am giving one to each of my children’s families. They all have multiple 55 gallon water drums for emergency water storage. I figure if they ever need to use the water, it would be best to filter it first. Thanks for explaining how it all works.

I’ve just started putting together our emergency preparation kit. I think the Sagan AquaDrum is an excellent addition. Who knows how much water we’ll need, but 3 gallons a day a person, sounds like a lot of milk cartons in my garage, so I’m excited to have my AquaDrum. The video I watched talked about so many options, also, about pumps, very informative! But, the main thing is actually having pure, clean drinking water. The Aqua Drum is the smartest purchase I’ve made so far. I’m truly excited to be prepared, but hopefully, I’ll never need to use it.

Have you ever tried to get storage water out of a 55-gallon barrel? Yeah…it’s a pain. This barrel filter and the pump is awesome! Just a few squeezes and the barrel pressurizes and the water gets passed through the filter and out the spigot. I have used the Sagan filters for some time and have been very impressed with their quality and durability. Great products.

We have four 55 gallon water drums that have been sitting in our basement for years, but we have yet to buy a purifier for them. After doing a lot of research (I am a research queen) I decided that the Sagan filtration system is the best out there. It is so simple to use and with minimal parts. Because the parts are so well made and the system can filter 250 gallons of water we only bought one for all 4 of our drums. So happy I finally found a reliable filtration system that I can trust!!

I bought the AquaDrum filter system for emergency prep reasons. I’ve tried it out to make sure it worked properly and really am happy with the way it works. It’s easy to use, just putting the filter in my water storage tank and using the pump that came with the system was a breeze. The water came out of the barrel rapidly and it tasted fresh as the day I put it in (not saying how long ago that was..I’m embarrassed to admit it) So, I really am happy with the system. I know if needed, I’ll have clean, drinkable water at the ready!
